Twenty-five kilograms of methamphetamine planned to be distributed to Balikpapan and Parepare were thwarted by the East Kalimantan Regional Police.   In a press conference held by East Kalimantan Regional Police, East Kalimantan Regional Chief of Police, Police Inspector General Henry Rudolf Nahak, stated that the squad of Drug Detective Directorate of East Kalimantan Regional Police managed to capture a motorboat containing 25 kg of methamphetamine at a fisherman's dock in Mulawarman street, Manggar Baru sub-district, East Kalimantan.   The motorboat was manned by suspects initialled L.O.A.M (motorist), L.O.S.L (crew), and S (crew).   "After interrogated, the suspects admitted that the methamphetamine was obtained from Sebatik, Nunukan at the boss's orders in Pare-Pare, South Sulawesi. The plan is that the 12 kg will be delivered to Balikpapan, and the rest (13 kg) will be delivered to Pare-Pare", East Kalimantan Regional Chief of Police said.   "Around ten minutes after the initial capture, police arrested two more suspects initialled A.A.T. and R.A.A. in Manggar Bridge, whose in charge of taking 12 kg of the methamphetamine from L.O.A.M et al. to be brought to Samarinda", East Kalimantan Regional Chief of Police added.   The two-star general also explained that, if converted, East Kalimantan Regional Police is managed to save 125,000 people from the danger of drug abuse. Meanwhile, the pieces of evidence secured by the police are one motorboat, five cellphones, two motorcycles, and a backpack.   For their actions, all five suspects are subjected to article 114 paragraph 2 subs article 112 paragraph 2, in connection with article 132 paragraph 2 of Law No. 35 the year 2009 on Narcotics, with sentences from at least ten years to life in prison.
