Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Traffic Directorate of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police is formulating scenarios to anticipate the surge of influx from travellers returning to Jakarta and its surroundings after the Eid al-Fitr 1442 H celebrations.   "(For) influx anticipation, we have formulated scenarios, either contra-flow or one-way", Traffic Director of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yugo, said in the Headquarters of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police on Tuesday (11/05/2021).   For the contra-flow temporary scenario, the Traffic Directorate of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police will start from kilometre 65 to kilometre 42 of Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.   That system can be expanded to kilometre 28 or even to kilometre 5, adding the total length to 60 kilometres. However, if a traffic jam continues to happen, Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police will coordinate with the Police Traffic Corps of Indonesian National Police for a broader scope of policies.   "If the (regional police-controlled contra follow) does not help, by the coordination with Police Traffic Corps, we will execute one-way toll road policy, usually started from Cikampek toll (gate) bound for Jakarta, or even from Kalikangking (toll gate) in Semarang, just like two years ago. This step is undoubtedly based on the attention of Police Traffic Corps of Indonesian National Police", Traffic Director of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yugo said. Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police stated that based on data gathered by toll road operators, around 360,000 vehicles exited Jakarta from the period of May 1st to 10th, 2021, with the expectations of rising numbers. Therefore, special measures are needed from the police corps to anticipate the surge of vehicle influx during the returning flow of 2021 Eid (Eid al-Fitr of 1442 H).
