Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto on Friday night (29/8/2025) visited the family of Affan Kurniawan, a 21-year-old ride-hailing driver killed after being run over by a police tactical vehicle during a protest in Central Jakarta.
Affan’s father, Zulkifli, urged the President to ensure justice is served.
“I only ask the President to uphold the law as fairly as possible,” he told reporters after President Prabowo’s condolence visit at their rented home in Central Jakarta, as quoted by antaranews.com
President Prabowo stayed for about 15 minutes, speaking with the family about their living conditions. He pledged to fulfill Affan’s dream for his mother by providing the family with a house in Cileungsi, Bogor, ending years of living in a narrow rented unit.
Deputy Minister for Disadvantaged Regions Ahmad Riza Patria confirmed the promise, saying the house represents Affan’s unfulfilled wish for his parents.
Affan, who left school at 14, worked as an online driver and breadwinner for his family until his death.
