Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto on Friday night (29/8/2025) paid a condolence visit to the family of Affan Kurniawan, a 21-year-old ride-hailing driver who died during a protest clash in Central Jakarta.
Affan was killed after being struck by a Mobile Brigade (Brimob) tactical vehicle amid the unrest on Thursday evening.
“My deepest condolences, both personally and on behalf of the TNI,” Commander Agus told reporters after meeting Affan’s parents and siblings at their residence.
Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Chair Achmadi, Deputy Minister for Disadvantaged Regions Ahmad Riza Patria, and businessman Jusuf Hamka also paid a visit to Affan’s family house.
The Pejompongan incident sparked nationwide attention, with Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo issuing a direct apology to the victim’s family.
