Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. President Prabowo Subianto on Saturday (30/8/2025) instructed the Indonesian Military (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) to take firm action against violent demonstrations that have escalated into riots in several regions.

“The President’s directive is clear regarding violent actions, the TNI and INP are ordered to take firm steps in line with the law,” INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said after meeting the President at his Bojongkoneng residence, accompanied by TNI General Agus Subiyanto.

He said that protests in recent days have turned into riots, with buildings and public facilities set ablaze and security posts attacked. 

“This is no longer an expression of aspiration, but a criminal act,” Chief Sigit stressed, as quoted by antaranews.com

Security forces will deploy immediately to restore order, while the TNI Commander urged the public to avoid provocation and resolve disputes through lawful dialogue.
