Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa announced on Thursday (22/1/2026) plans on Thursday for a large-scale rotation of Directorate General of Taxes personnel to restore public trust following a corruption scandal.
The move followed a recent anti-graft commission (KPK) sting operation in North Jakarta. Minister Purbaya said that organizational refreshing is crucial to improving performance after the 2025 tax revenue fell short of targets by Rp 271.7 trillion.
"I suspect this mutation is not the last; we will conduct a much larger rotation within the next two months,"he said during an inauguration ceremony for new regional officials, as cited by antaranews.com.
The restructuring aims to curb misconduct and optimize national revenue, which reached only 87.6% of its Rp 2,189.3 trillion target last year. By installing new leadership in high-risk zones, the Ministry intends to tighten oversight and ensure fiscal sustainability. Purbaya warned staff that their integrity directly impacts the nation's financial health, stressing that professional excellence is the only way to rebuild the authority's tarnished image and meet the challenging 2026 budgetary goals.
