Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa reiterated that Indonesia’s economic fundamentals remain resilient despite the Rupiah’s recent fluctuations toward the Rp16,800 per US Dollar range.
Following a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday (10/3/2026), the Minister said that the current currency position remains manageable as long as national economic foundations are preserved through strategic fiscal and monetary policy.
“It is currently around Rp16,800; as long as our economic foundation is good, controlling the Rupiah is significantly easier than if the economy were in disarray,” Minister Purbaya said, as cited by antaranews.com.
The Minister explained that domestic economic health and sufficient financial system liquidity are the primary defenses against external shocks. While the Rupiah closed Tuesday at Rp16,863, a slight appreciation of 0.51 percent, the government continues to monitor international developments, including geopolitical shifts in the Middle East that influence investor sentiment.
