Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa confirmed on Wednesday (22/4/2026)  the dismissal of Febrio Nathan Kacaribu, the Director General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy, and Luky Alfirman, the Director General of Budget, as of Tuesday with acting officials (Plh) immediately appointed to maintain operations.

“They are resting for now. Later, I will find positions that suit their competencies,” he said, adding that he has not yet assigned new duties to the .two former officials, as cited by antaranews.com

The dismissals leave three vacant Echelon I positions within the Ministry, including the post formerly held by Masyita Crystallin, who moved to PT Danantara Investment Management. 

Minister Purbaya plans to select candidates for all three roles simultaneously and submit them to President Prabowo Subianto by mid-May. This leadership shift follows the recent inauguration of five new Echelon II officials under a Ministry of Finance decree.
