Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa on Monday (8/12/2205) detailed four common tactics exporters use to avoid paying export duties, causing potential state losses.

“Strict supervision of these practices is essential to protect the integrity of Indonesia’s export-duty system,” he said during a hearing with Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR), as reported by antaranews.com.

The tactics include administrative misreporting of goods and tariff codes, disguising export goods as inter-island shipments, mixing illegal products with legal ones, and exporting without proper documentation. To counter these methods, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise applies a three-stage control system: pre-clearance intelligence mapping, document scrutiny supported by Gamma Ray and X-Ray scanners, and post-clearance audits with tax and trade authorities.

The Minister reported rising enforcement results, with export-duty supervision contributing Rp 191.5 billion in 2023, Rp 477.9 billion in 2024, and Rp 496.7 billion as of November 2025. Increasing case numbers and seizure values, he added, reflect stronger governance and higher exporter compliance.
