Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the evacuation of 65 Indonesians rom Lebanon due to escalating security concerns in the region.

Judha Nugraha, the Director of Protection for Indonesians and Citizens Abroad at Kemlu, confirmed that 25 Indonesians evacuated in August have safely returned to Indonesia. Another 40 others were evacuated in two waves this month, as reported by antaranews.com.

"Twenty Indonesians from the fourth wave have safely arrived in Amman, while another 20 Indonesians and one Lebanese from the fifth wave reached Damascus and are heading to Amman," Judha explained during a press briefing on Friday (4/10/2024).

The Ministry opted for land routes to Amman, Jordan, via Damascus, Syria, for the safety of the evacuees. Currently, 116 Indonesians remain in Lebanon, with the majority in Beirut. Four others have chosen to stay in southern Lebanon, despite increasingly dangerous conditions.

The Ministry has been urging them to join in the ongoing evacuation for their safety.
