inp.polri.go.id -  The North Jakarta Metro Police managed to arrest four perpetrators who raped a 13-year-old in the North Jakarta City Forest. This case was also caught the attention of a well-known lawyer, Hotman Paris Hutapea, after the victim complained about the rape incident she experienced. "It is true that we have arrested the perpetrators," explained the North Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Wibowo, S.I.K, M.Hum. Commissioner Wibowo, explained that the victim was raped on September 1 in the North Jakarta City Forest. It started when the victim was on her way home from school and met the four perpetrators, one day before the incident. "She met these four people, then one of the perpetrator grabbed and hugged the victim and then asked if the victim wanted to be his girlfriend, which the victim answered that she didn't want to," he explained. On the next day, the victim met again with the four perpetrators in the City Forest. It was then that the perpetrators raped the victim. Commissioner Wibowo, explained that the victim only reported the incident five days later, on September 6th, to the North Jakarta Metro Police. After investigation, the perpetrators were arrested on the same day. The North Jakarta Metro Police Chief said that the four perpetrators of the rape were minors with an age range of 12-14 years. North Jakarta Metro Police Chief, explained that the perpetrators could not be detained either due to them still being minors. As a result, the four perpetrators were placed in a shelter in Cipayung, East Jakarta. "Under the Child Protection Law, we cannot name children as suspects, and all we can do is to name these four children whose facing the law. What is important is that we have secured these four people, although we cannot arrest them," said the North Jakarta Metro Police Chief. In the video uploaded to @hotmanparisofficial Instagram account, a 13-year-old teenager told Hotman Paris that she had been raped. "North Jakarta Police Chief, now I hold the hand of a 13-year-old child, a little girl who was raped in the urban forest, in the North Jakarta City Forest," Hotman said in the video. "(Mind you) she was only 13 years old, and she got raped by four people, and know that she was also an orphan," he continued. In the video, Hotman also stated that the victim had made a report to the North Jakarta Metro Police. He then asked the attention of Metro Jaya Police Chief, Mohammad Fadil Imran, to immediately process the case.
