inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Cyber Crime Directorate has completed its investigation into a phishing SMS blast using a method impersonating the official e-ticket website from the Attorney General's Office. Four suspects in the case will soon begin trial after the case file was declared complete (P21).
Head of Sub-Directorate II of the Cyber Crime Directorate of INP Criminal Investigation Unit, Senior Superintendent Andrian Pramudainto, stated that his team has handed over the suspects and evidence to the public prosecutor.
"We have handed over the suspects and evidence to the Grobogan District Attorney's Office," Andrian told reporters on Wednesday (5/6/2026).
The four suspects handed over are RW, WTP, FN, and RJ. The four are suspected of involvement in a cyber fraud case involving SMS blasts containing phishing links impersonating the official e-tilang website.
This case was uncovered following a public complaint received by the Cyber Crime Directorate from the Indonesian Attorney General's Office on December 9, 2025, regarding the circulation of several fake links impersonating government institutions. The report identified 11 fake Attorney General's Office links and five phone numbers used to distribute the SMS blasts.
During the investigation, the Cyber Crime Directorate also uncovered a police report using a similar method in Palu, Central Sulawesi. One victim received an SMS containing a phishing link that directed them to a fake e-tilang website.
Because the website looked like the official website, the victim then entered their credit card details. As a result, the victim suffered a loss of SAR 2,000 (approximately IDR 8.8 million) after their card was illegally used.
Following the investigation, Cyber Crime Directorate investigators discovered 124 additional phishing links and several phone numbers used in the cybercrime.
Investigators also confiscated several pieces of evidence, including computers, cell phones, dozens of SIM card boxes, SIM cards, and bank accounts suspected of being used to support the crime.
