Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes Asep Nana Mulyana revealed that online gamblers in the country range from elementary school students to homeless individuals.
The data, updated as of 12 September 2025, highlights the widespread reach of online gambling across demographics.
“Many gamblers are farmers, students, and even the homeless. Online gambling appears lucrative at first glance, but it’s deeply destructive,” Asep said during a public discussion in Jakarta on Sunday (26/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He added that elementary school children had begun participating through small-scale online slot games. Data from the Attorney General’s Office show that 88.1 percent of gamblers are male (1,899 people), while 11.9 percent are female (257). The largest age group involved is 26–50 years old, followed by 18–25 years, over 50, and under 18.
The Attorney General’s Office has joined the national Online Gambling Eradication Task Force to boost public literacy and combat the growing digital crimes.
