Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Military (TNI) has appointed Lieutenant General Robi Herbawan as the new Head of the Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS), succeeding Lt. Gen. Yudi Abrimantyo who recently resigned.

 "Lt. Gen. Robi Herbawan has been entrusted as the Head of BAIS TNI. He previously served as the Head of the Defense Ministry’s Intelligence Information and Communication Agency," said Brigadier General Rico Ricardo Sirait, the Head of the Defense Information Bureau at the Ministry of Defense, on Thursday (7/5/2026), as cited by antaranews.com..

The leadership change is part of a broader organizational reshuffle within Indonesia's defense and intelligence sectors. 

Other key movements include the appointment of Lt. Gen. Agus Widodo as Deputy Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) and Maj. Gen. Bagus Suryadi Tayo as the new Director General of Defense Strategy. CHief Rico said that these rotations a necessary regeneration process to ensure organizational effectiveness.
