Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State logistics company Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani confirmed on Thursday (7/5/2026) that national rice stocks have reached 5.23 million tons, securing Indonesia’s food supply through 2027.
This stockpile is intended to mitigate production risks, including potential droughts caused by the El Niño phenomenon expected later this year.
"Bulog's stocks across Indonesia have now reached 5.23 million tons. This ensures our food security until next year," Rizal said in Jakarta, as cited by antaranews.com.
He emphasized that the agency has already absorbed 2.4 million tons of domestic rice from local farmers toward its 4-million-ton annual target.
In a move to increase transparency, Bulog has opened its warehouses to the public. Under the direction of the National Food Agency, citizens and students can now register to visit facilities and verify stock levels.
