Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia and 12 other countries, has issued a stern condemnation of Israel’s attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla, a peaceful civilian initiative aimed at delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. 

The joint statement, released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday (7/5/2026), denounced the 30 April 2026 assault and the subsequent illegal detention of activists in international waters.

“Israel's attack on these vessels and the unlawful detention of humanitarian activists in international waters constitute a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian law,” the joint statement declared, as cited by antaranews.com 

The coalition, including countries such as Turkey, Brazil, and South Africa, urged Israeli authorities to ensure the immediate release of all detained personnel.

The United Nations Human Rights Office echoed these concerns on Wednesday, demanding the unconditional release of the flotilla members. UN spokesperson Thameen Al-Kheetan said that showing solidarity and providing much-needed aid to Gaza is not a crime, calling for global accountability for these violations.
