Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced on Wednesday (2/4/2026) that electricity tariffs for state energy company PLN customers will remain unchanged throughout the second quarter of 2026 to protect public purchasing power.

"The public does not need to worry as the government has officially set the electricity rates to stay constant for the April to June period," said Tri Winarno, the Acting Director General of Electricity, as quoted by antaranews.com

The decision followed an evaluation of macroeconomic parameters from November 2025 to January 2026, including an exchange rate of Rp 16,743.46 per USD and an average oil price of $ 62.78 per barrel. Despite fluctuations in global energy costs, the government prioritized national economic stability for both subsidized and non-subsidized households.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo confirmed the utility provider is prepared to execute this policy while ensuring a reliable power supply across the archipelago in a bid to provide certainty for the business sector and maintain industrial competitiveness amidst ongoing global geopolitical uncertainty and inflationary pressures.
