inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu'ti, ensured that the education digitalization program would continue to be expanded to reach remote schools, including those without electricity and internet access.

He stated that the government is committed to providing equitable technology-based education services to all schools in Indonesia, including those in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions.

"For all schools, by 2025 the program will have each school to own their own device. Hopefully, in 2026, this will be expanded to three devices per school," said Abdul, Tuesday (5/26/2026).

He explained that each school will receive support from several internet service providers (ISPs) to strengthen network access and support the digital learning process.

The government, has divided schools receiving the digitalization program into three categories. The first category includes schools that already have electricity and internet access, requiring only strengthening the use of learning technology.

The second category includes schools that have electricity but do not yet have an internet connection. "For this category, the government is helping provide internet access through a partnership with Starlink to facilitate network installation," adds Abdul.

The third category is schools that don't have electricity or internet. For these schools, the government will continue to provide internet access and supplement the electricity through solar panels.

"For schools that don't have electricity or internet, they will still be provided with an internet connection, and the electricity will be supplied using dedicated solar panels at the school," explains Abdul.

He explained that the program has been running since 2025 and will continue to be expanded gradually. In addition to providing digital infrastructure, the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education provides training to teachers to enable them to optimally utilize learning technology.

According to Abdul, this training is crucial to ensure that the devices and internet services provided are not merely facilities that are not utilized in the teaching and learning process.

He emphasized that digitalization of education is one of the government's strategic steps to improve the quality of learning and expand equitable access to education throughout Indonesia.
