Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman affirmed on Monday (18/8/2025) that the government is consistently enforcing pro-farmer policies, ranging from higher grain purchase prices to fertilizer subsidies and mechanization aid, as part of efforts to strengthen national food security.
“These measures reflect the President’s true commitment to improving farmer welfare,” he said.=m as quoted by antaranews.com
He explained that stable grain prices, productivity increases, and food self-sufficiency are the government’s main goals.
The government’s intervention has raised wet grain prices from Rp6,000/kg earlier this year to Rp7,500/kg, preventing farmer losses. Corn prices have also risen to Rp5,800/kg.
In Merauke, farmer groups received tractors, water pumps, and seeds, enabling them to cultivate 183 hectares of rice and maize fields more effectively.
Minister Amran stressed that the pro-farmer approach will continue, especially in irrigation, farm roads, and mechanization, to boost yields and ensure sustainable farmer prosperity.
