Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian government is preparing a Presidential Instruction to implement the National Movement Against Violence Toward Women and Children (GN-AKPA), responding to a surge in reported abuse cases.

Over 11,000 cases were recorded in the first half of 2025, including physical, psychological, sexual abuse, and cyberviolence, as reported b antaranews.com.

Deputy Coordinating Minister for Law and Human Rights, Otto Hasibuan, stressed on Tuesday (15/7/2025) the importance of measurable implementation, not just moral declarations.

"We must go beyond symbolic action," he said, urging ministries and agencies to take coordinated, tangible measures.

The plan includes strengthening victims’ access to legal aid, training law enforcement to prioritize gender-based violence, and creating a real-time national data center.

The coordination meeting, chaired by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, concluded with a commitment to issue a Presidential Instruction as a legal umbrella to ensure inter-agency cooperation.
