inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions is promoting the sustainability of the SIGAP Program through the utilization of Village Funds, as stipulated in regulations regarding the focus of Village Fund use.

Sappe M.P. Sirait, Senior Policy Analyst at the Directorate of Village Fund Utilization Facilitation at the Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, stated that the ministry's support for the program is already stipulated in Ministerial Regulation Number 16 of 2025 concerning the Focus of Village Fund Use.

"In this regulation, one of the focuses of Village Fund use is basic health promotion and services. The SIGAP program is highly relevant and can be funded sustainably through Village Funds," said Sappe on Thursday (1/15/2026).

The SIGAP Family is a multi-channel behavior change campaign that addresses several key barriers to child development. This movement is a collaborative effort between the government and the private sector.

The movement has three main objectives: ensuring more comprehensive immunizations according to schedule, washing hands with soap, and providing nutritious food and healthy food choices.

He explained that Village Funds can be used for various basic health service activities, including providing supplementary food, incentives for health workers or cadres, and other health activities at the village level.

According to Sappe, several activities aligned with the Keluarga SIGAP Program are already underway in villages, such as providing incentives for health cadres, supplementary food programs, and handwashing with soap campaigns.

Sappe explained that Indonesia has more than 75,000 villages, while the Keluarga SIGAP program has only reached a few hundred. Therefore, a joint effort is needed to expand the program and reach more areas.

"However, we also understand that donor agencies have limitations. Therefore, this is a shared responsibility for local governments, NGOs, the central government, and relevant ministries to consider the sustainability and continuity of the SIGAP program going forward," explained Analyst Sappe.
