inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A short film titled "Sekolah Rakyat" will soon be produced through a collaboration between the Ministry of Social Affairs and Penjaga Harapan association to highlight the struggles of children from extremely poor families to gain access to education as part of poverty alleviation efforts.

"Community School is not a goal, but a tool provided by the state so that children from poor families can realize their dreams and help their families escape from poverty," explained Vice Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono, Wednesday (6/24/2026).

He stated that the majority of Community School students come from families in deciles 1 and 2 in the National Socioeconomic Single Data (DTSEN), who are part of the extreme poverty group. Through the boarding school concept, the program is expected to open access to adequate education without the constraints of zoning or geographical limitations.

The approximately 25-minute film will tell the story of a child from a humble family who initially had to work every day until finally gaining the opportunity to attend Community School.

Doni Adhitia, Content Coordinator for Penjaga Harapan, stated that the film was prepared as a medium to introduce the values and goals of CommunitySchool program to the public through a dramatic approach that highlights life changes without exploiting suffering.

"We hope this film will be a collaborative effort to bring the ideological values of Community School to the public. This isn't just a story, but an effort to instill empathy and understanding that this program truly touches people's lives," explained Doni.

Agus also expressed his support for the film's production process and emphasized the importance of presenting works that have an impact on society.

In addition to the short movie, which is approximately 25 minutes long, the production team will also prepare a 30-second trailer for distribution through various public channels, including videotrons.

The film's production is scheduled to last three days, using a research-based approach and consultation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and the film community. The film is expected to broaden public understanding of the role of education in improving the quality of human resources and supporting poverty alleviation efforts.
