Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police destroyed 1.74 tons of various drugs evidence from the 2021 Nila Jaya Operation, which was conducted for two weeks from November 1 to 15, 2021. The drugs come from various types such as amphetamine, ecstasy, marijuana, and happy five pills.
"There were 221 Police reports from this discovery, with 273 people declared suspects consisting of 14 dealers and 259 sellers", Chief of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Police Inspector General Mohammad Fadil Imran, said.
According to the two-star general, the 1.74 tons of drugs consist of 60.14 kg of amphetamine, 1.6 tons of marijuana, 470 ecstasy pills, 24.5 kg of synthetic powder, and 500 happy five pills.
Chief of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police explained that drugs eradication would not work if conducted only by law enforcers such as Police, Attorney General, Court, and Army, but with the public participation as well.
"This is our future challenge. How heavy it is fighting against drugs. This effort must be conducted together with all public elements, not only Police, Prosecutors, and Judges", Police Inspector General Mohammad Fadil Imran said.
