Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Hainan Airlines inaugurated its first direct flight between Haikou and Jakarta, marked by a ceremony and water salute at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport’s Terminal 3 on Saturday (27/9/2025).

“Indonesia has long been one of the top overseas destinations for Chinese travelers. The addition of flight HU701, along with routes such as Chongqing–Jakarta and Hangzhou–Jakarta, will further ease exchanges and strengthen ties between our two nations,” said Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong at the event, as reproted by antaranews.com.

The service, operated with a Boeing 737, runs four round-trip flights weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flight HU701 departs Meilan Airport in Haikou at 15:02 local time and lands in Jakarta at 18:12 WIB, with return service under code HU702.

Indonesian government officials from the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Transportation joined airline executives in welcoming the new route, highlighting its role in boosting people-to-people exchange and economic cooperation.
