Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A video circulating on Instagram alleging President Prabowo Subianto drank beer during a gala dinner at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta with French President Emmanuel Macron has been confirmed as a hoax.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya clarified on Tuesday (2/6/2026) that the beverage consumed by President Prabowo was sparkling apple, not beer. 

“The drink served at the dinner was non-alcoholic sparkling apple,” he said.

Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana also confirmed that both leaders were drinking apple cider, not alcohol. The clarification was published by saberhoaks.jabarprov.go.id to counter misinformation spreading online.
