Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian has ordered regional leaders and legislative council (DPRD) members to postpone all overseas travel and ceremonial events, stressing the need to focus on stability and public trust.
“I have requested all heads of regions and DPRD members to delay foreign trips,” he said after attending the Regional Inflation Control Meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday (2/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He added that while such trips normally require ministry approval, no permits will be issued for the time being.
Minister Tito further instructed governors, mayors, and regents in vulnerable areas to remain in their regions and coordinate closely with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) to maintain security.
He also urged local administrations to cancel costly ceremonies, warning that lavish spending could appear insensitive at a time when the government of President Prabowo Subianto is pushing nationwide austerity and efficiency measures.
