IMF Outlook Won’t Shake Indonesia’s Economic Confidence: State Secretary

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi on Wednesday (30/4/2025) said the International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s revised projection of Indonesia’s 2025 growth to 4.7% should not weaken national optimism.

“Our fundamentals are strong—stable growth, low inflation, solid household consumption, and a healthy investment climate,” said Prasetyo, who also serves as President Prabowo’s spokesperson.

He emphasized that the government continues efforts to attract investment through regulatory reforms and international cooperation. Indonesia reached its Q1 investment target, reflecting continued investor confidence.

“Rather than worry, we should focus on collaboration across sectors to strengthen the economy,” Secretary Hadi added, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The IMF cited global trade tensions and slowing demand as reasons for the downgrade. The World Bank issued a similar revision.

Despite these global pressures, the State Secretary urged unity and confidence in navigating future challenges,
