Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia’s National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) have strengthened cooperation to prevent online radicalization amid growing digital threats.
The renewed partnership was formalized during a courtesy visit by UNODC’s Southeast Asia and Pacific representative, Delphine Schantz, in Jakarta last week, according to antaranews.com
“Prevention is key, and online radicalization remains a critical area where BNPT and UNODC must continue to collaborate,” said BNPT Chief Commissioner General Eddy Hartono in a statement released on Tuesday (11/11/2025), emphasizing the rise of extremist recruitment through online games targeting youth.
Both sides agreed to boost digital resilience and protect women and children from radical online content. Schantz noted that Indonesia’s proactive approach could become a regional model, adding that UNODC supports youth-based digital resilience programs as part of Indonesia’s National Action Plan on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (RAN PE).
