“The Indonesian government urged all parties to return to diplomacy in resolving the conflict permanently,” says the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) Budi Gunawan, Monday (23/6/2025).

Moreover, Budi says that President Prabowo prioritized protecting the Indonesians in the Middle Eastern countries by preparing contingency and evacuation plans.

“The first wave of Indonesians returning from Iran is 29 people who departed from Baku, Azerbaijan, on June 23rd, 2025 and scheduled to arrive on June 24th, 2025,” says Budi.

He ensures that the government continues to anticipate the global conflict situation development for further evacuation plans.

Previously, US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday(6/22/2025) that US forces had completed attacks on three Iranian nuclear sites, namely Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

The US attack followed Israeli attacks launched since June 13 on various targets in Iran, including nuclear and military sites, which killed several senior commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.

Iran responded with missile and drone attacks on Israeli territory. As of Saturday (6/21/2025), more than 400 people were killed and more than 3,500 others were injured in Iran, according to the Iranian Health Ministry. In Israel, authorities reported 24 fatalities.
