Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The  Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries has partnered with China’s First Institute of Oceanography to strengthen the country’s marine technology capabilities.

“This program is designed to enhance Indonesia’s marine technology capacity through advanced knowledge transfer and human capital development initiatives,” said I Nyoman Radiarta, the Head of the Human Resources Agency of Marine and Fisheries, in an official statement published by antaranews, com on Sunday (23/11/2025).

During a four-day China-Indonesia Marine Technology Training held in Jakarta from 17 to 20 November 2025, demands to build a skilled marine technology workforce, expand sustainable aquaculture, support carbon-neutral initiatives, and accelerate blue-economy development surfaced. It also follows maritime cooperation between Jakarta and Beijing, highlighting the shared goal of promoting sustainable ocean exploration and technology-based conservation.

The course, held at the Jakarta Fisheries Polytechnic and national research facilities, covered blue-economy policy, ecological restoration, aquaculture technology, seaweed-based carbon mitigation, and environmental impact assessment. Both nations aim to build long-term bilateral cooperation and a stronger Indonesian marine tech ecosystem.
