Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia’s U-17 national football team has officially qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar after a dominant 4-1 victory over Yemen in their second Group C match at the AFC U-17 Asian Cup in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Monday evening (7/4/2025) .
With two straight wins—including a 1-0 win over South Korea—Indonesia now tops the group and secures a quarterfinal spot, along with automatic World Cup qualification.
The goals came from Zahaby Gholy, Fadly Alberto, and a brace by Evandra Florasta, while Yemen responded with a penalty in the 52nd minute.
“We’re proud of the boys—they showed great discipline and fighting spirit,” said head coach Nova Arianto, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Indonesia will face Afghanistan in the final group match, but the result will not affect their qualification status. The achievement is a significant milestone for Indonesian youth football as the nation prepares to compete on the world stage this November.
