The government will distribute state-owned defense equipment manufacturer PT Pindad-produced Maung MV3 tactical vehicles to security personnel nationwide, including village-level military soldiers Babinsa and police officers Bhabinkamtibmas, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin announced Saturday (1/3/2025).
Speaking at an official handover at Husein Sastranegara Air Base, Bandung, he said the deployment would cover all levels, from top military and police commanders to grassroots officers.
"This will be continuously used across the country, from the Military Commander-in-Chief, Indonesian National Police Chief, and service heads to Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas in villages," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Senior officials will receive air-conditioned variants, while personnel on operational duty will use open-design models. Sjafrie emphasized that the Maung MV3 reflects Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening domestic defense industries.
The Defense Ministry handed over 700 units, including 400 for the Army, 100 each for the Navy and Air Force, 50 for the Indonesian National Police (INP), and 50 for the Indonesian Military (TNI) headquarters.
