Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) will extend its Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program to include teachers and education staff, following directives from President Prabowo Subianto.

Previously, the program targeted students and vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, nursing mothers, and toddlers.

“The beneficiaries will be expanded to include teachers and education staff, in line with the President’s directive,” BGN spokesperson Redy Hendra said on Tuesday (16/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The rollout schedule for teachers remains undecided, with social considerations cited as a primary factor in extending benefits. In addition, community health volunteers, known locally as kader posyandu, will also receive support through MBG, in the form of operational allowances, recognizing their role in distributing meals to mothers and children.

Redy noted that this expansion aligns with a significant increase in BGN’s 2026 budget to Rp268 trillion, three times higher than the Rp71 trillion allocated in 2025, reflecting government commitment to broader nutrition coverage.
