inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Director General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Silmy Karim, firmly stated that Indonesia is not a safe haven for foreign fugitives and other global criminals as immigration supervision has now become tighter.

"We are not a safe haven or a good transit point for fugitives. Currently, we are continuing our work together with the Indonesian National Police International Relations Division in hunting down and prosecuting Interpol fugitives, which is now growing to be more firm than before," he said on Friday (10/11/2024).

In his statement, he said that his party was committed to working together with the National Central Bureau (NCB) of the Indonesian National Police's Interpol unit. This is done to prosecute foreign fugitives and other international criminals in the state.

"We will always fully support law enforcement and work actively, side by side with the NCB Interpol, especially to carry out law enforcement and joint investigations and to search for and repatriate foreign nationals who have legal problems," he said.
