inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia has officially launched the Sustainability Disclosure Standards (SPK) through a collaboration between Bank Indonesia, the Ministry of Finance, and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). This step marks a joint commitment to building a transparent, accountable reporting ecosystem that aligns with international standards.
Inarno Djajadi, Chief Executive of the OJK's Capital Market, Derivatives, and Carbon Exchange Supervisory Agency, explained that the SPK will help companies present sustainability information in a measurable, credible, and comparable manner across market participants.
"Sustainability reporting is an essential part of sustainable finance. The ratification of the SPK by the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI) is intended to build a transparent, accountable reporting ecosystem that aligns with international reporting frameworks," said Chairman Inarno on Tuesday (8/12/2025).
This standard adopts the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (IFRS S1 and S2) issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), making Indonesia one of 33 jurisdictions that have implemented the global reporting framework.
According to Chairman Inarno, the implementation of these standards will increase transparency regarding sustainability risks, opportunities, and strategies, as well as prepare companies to face challenges such as climate change.
The launch of the SPK was also welcomed by Senior Deputy of Bank Indonesia, Destry Damayanti, who viewed this initiative as an important step in building a credible sustainability ecosystem amidst the threat of climate change to the financial sector.
The issuance of the SPK is a follow-up to the SPK Roadmap released by the IAI in December 2024 and the result of the work of the Task Force Comprehensive Corporate Reporting (TF CCR) formed in 2020.
To support implementation, the IAI also established the Indonesia Sustainability Reporting Forum (ISRF) as a collaborative platform for regulators, business actors, and stakeholders to strengthen the sustainability reporting ecosystem in Indonesia.
