Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto announced Indonesia’s readiness to take part in maintaining peace in Gaza following a ceasefire agreement reached at the Sharm el-Sheikh Summit in Egypt.

Speaking upon arrival in Jakarta on Tuesday (14/10/2025), he said key mediators,  the United States, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt, had asked about Indonesia’s willingness to contribute.

“We said we are ready. If peacekeeping troops are needed, Indonesia is prepared,” the president said at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base,  adding that technical discussions with relevant parties would soon follow, noting the process “will be complex and take time.”

Indonesia has previously sent humanitarian aid, including Hercules aircraft and ships carrying food and supplies for Gaza civilians, according to antaranews.com.

Earlier, President Prabowo ordered the military to prepare a 20,000-strong contingent for possible UN-mandated peacekeeping duties if endorsed by the UN Security Council.
