inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia has received a prestigious international award of Council President Certificate for its success in improving its civil aviation security oversight capabilities in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.
The Director General of Civil Aviation of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, Lukman F. Laisa, said the award was presented by the President of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Salvatore Sciacchitano, at the opening session of the 42nd ICAO General Assembly in Montreal, Canada.
"This award is given for Indonesia's success in improving its civil aviation security oversight capabilities in accordance with ICAO standards and recommendations," said Lukman on Friday (9/26/2025).
He conveyed that based on the results of the ICAO Universal Security Audit Programme Continuous Monitoring Approach (USAP-CMA), Indonesia obtained an Effective Implementation score of 88.53 percent.
This achievement is far above the Global Aviation Security Plan of 75 percent. The audit results reflect Indonesia's strong commitment to strengthening its civil aviation security system in a sustainable manner.
Lukman emphasized the achievement of the high audit score is a clear proof of the seriousness of the Indonesian Government in maintaining civil aviation security standards.
"The results of this audit show that Indonesia has implemented aviation security supervision in accordance with ICAO standards and recommendations. This is a motivation to continue strengthening the aviation security system in the country," he said.
Lukman added that the Council President Certificate award received by Indonesia is a form of international recognition for Indonesia's success in implementing aviation security standards in accordance with the provisions of the International Civil Aviation Organization.
"This award is not only a symbol, but also a responsibility for Indonesia to remain consistent in maintaining high aviation security standards," he added.
The Ministry of Transportation also appreciates all aviation partners and ministries/institutions that have participated in supporting the success of the ICAO USAP audit.
