Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian government has officially suspended the deployment of 8,000 Indonesian Military (TNI) soldiers intended for the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza. 

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi confirmed on Tuesday (17/3/2026) that the mission is currently on hold following a strategic coordination meeting at the Ministry of Defense. This decision recorded a significant pause in Indonesia's commitment to the US-backed Board of Peace (BoP) initiative, which aimed to stabilize the region during its post-conflict transition.

"Everything is on hold. On hold. We will wait until an undetermined time," said State Secretary Prasetyo, noting that the suspension is a direct response to the "extraordinary" escalation of conflict in the Middle East involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

The suspension was justified by the government as a necessary move to protect national interests and the safety of Indonesian troops amidst a volatile geopolitical landscape. 

Indonesia was prepared to send a massive contingent, originally planned for up to 20,000 soldiers, theactual deployment must be balanced against the contributions of other nations and the prevailing security situation. 

For now, the TNI remains in a state of "operational readiness," waiting for the regional tensions to de-escalate and for further directives from the Board of Peace.
