Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Defense will strengthen national cyber defense by studying Singapore’s cyber military structure.
This initiative was discussed during a bilateral meeting between Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Singapore Armed Forces Chief Admiral Aaron Beng in Jakarta on Tuesday (22/7/2025).
Brigadier General Frega Ferdinand Wenas Inkiriwang, the Head of the Defense Ministry Information Bureau, emphasized Singapore’s advanced and stable cyber defense system.
“We want to learn from Singapore, and Singapore is also open to sharing their expertise because they are already settled as a new military domain,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Singapore established its Digital Intelligence Service (DIS) in 2022, positioning it alongside land, air, and naval forces. Indonesia is exploring a similar concept for the the Indonesian Military (TNI) as its fourth military branch.
While details of the cooperation remain confidential, officials hope the partnership will enhance cyber resilience, especially in securing critical national data.
