Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia will automatically terminate social assistance, known locally as bansos, for recipients found engaging in online gambling, according to Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar.
“Social aid will be immediately halted, and the recipient’s bank account closed,” said Muhaimin during a press briefing in Tanah Abang, Jakarta, on Monday evening (14/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He confirmed that account closures are carried out automatically by the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).
However, Minister Muhaimin denied claims that any social aid recipients were involved in terrorism financing.
Previously, PPATK chief Ivan Yustivandana reported that 571,410 national ID numbers linked to social aid programs had been detected as engaging in online gambling during 2024.
