Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia claimed overall victory at the 2025 Southeast Asian Modern Pentathlon Championships (MPSEA) held at the Air Force Academy in Yogyakarta, collecting 17 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

“This is a proud and outstanding achievement,” said Modern Penthatlon Indonesia (MPI) Chairman Purwoko Aji Prabowo on Thursday (15/5/2025).

On the final day, Indonesia dominated the triathle events, winning gold in six categories: U-17 boys and girls, U-19 boys, junior girls, senior men, and mixed relay, according to antaranews.com.

The event featured athletes from across Southeast Asia. The Philippines and Vietnam each took one gold, while Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Timor Leste followed behind in the medal tally.

The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Chairman Marciano Norman, who attended the closing ceremony, praised Indonesia’s performance and the successful hosting of the event. He raised his confidence in the team’s preparation for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, saying the strong result would boost athlete motivation and national pride ahead of the regional games.
