Mali struck first in the fifth minute when Selou Doucoure headed in a corner. Indonesia responded with sustained pressure, with chances falling to Dony Tri, Mauro Zijlstra, Ivar Jenner, and Rafael Struick, but none were converted. 

Mali doubled their lead in the 35th minute after Wilson Samake dribbled past several defenders before finishing clinically.

Indonesia showed more intensity in the second half after Wigi Pratama replaced the injured Rahmat Arjuna, yet Mali’s disciplined defending kept them scoreless. In stoppage time, Moulaye Haidara capitalized on another defensive error to seal Mali’s 3–0 victory.
