Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia has formally requested the UN Security Council to investigate a series of hostile incidents against UNIFIL after three more Indonesian peacekeepers were injured in a Friday explosion in El Adeisse, Southern Lebanon.

"Indonesia demands an immediate investigation into all incidents targeting UNIFIL and calls for an urgent meeting among troop-contributing countries to strengthen protection for personnel," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a written statement on Saturday (4/4/2026), as reported by antaranews.com.

The blast was the third serious incident involving Indonesian troops in just one week, bringing the total number of wounded TNI personnel to eight. This escalation followed the recent loss of three Indonesian soldiers killed by artillery fire and convoy ambushes amid ongoing military operations in the region.

The Foreign Ministry said that the safety of peacekeepers is non-negotiable and that any deliberate endangerment constitutes a severe violation of international law. Indonesia is now pushing for a transparent, thorough inquiry to ensure full accountability as the conflict continues to destabilize the region and threaten international stabilization forces.
