Inp.polri.go.id - Pontianak. The Indonesia-Malaysia Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) from the Army Strategic Command (Kostrad) has intensified air surveillance along the West Kalimantan border by conducting anti-drone training in Entikong on Saturday (23/5/2026).
“This training strengthens readiness against misuse of unmanned aircraft in border areas,” said Task Force Commander Lieutanant Colonel Andy Qomarudin as reported by antaranews.com
He highlighted the importance of mastering drone detection and countermeasures to address evolving technology-based threats.
The program involved 24 soldiers in simulations and case studies tailored to the border’s geographic conditions. Technical instructors f provided materials on early detection, threat identification, and counter-drone operations.
Training also extended to Temajuk coastal areas to reinforce maritime and coastal surveillance. Authorities noted that drones could be exploited for smuggling or espionage if not properly monitored.
