Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that an Indonesian man was killed in a helicopter crash in Bentong, Pahang, Malaysia.
Judha Nugraha, the Director of Citizen Protection at the ministry, said on Thursday (6/2/2025) that the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur is coordinating with Malaysian aviation authorities and the aircraft’s owner regarding the repatriation of the victim’s remains.
“The crash claimed the life of an Indonesian national, identified by the initials FRS,” he said in a statement, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The Bell 206L4 helicopter, registered as PK-ZUV, was owned by Indonesian company Zaveryna Utama and leased to a Malaysian firm for power line installation.
Bentong Police Chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the aircraft lost control while hovering three meters above the ground, causing it to tip over and catch fire.
The pilot survived with minor injuries. Malaysian authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
