inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Budisatrio Djiwandono requested a thorough investigation into the explosion case during the destruction of ammunition in Cibalong, Garut Regency, West Java, which caused dozens of fatalities including the Indonesian National Military (TNI) soldiers.

He also ensured that his party would fully support the TNI to conduct a transparent investigation. This, he said, needs to be done in order to uncover the cause of the incident so that similar incidents do not recur.

"However, more than that, we consider it necessary to have a thorough audit of the SOP for logistics management and the destruction of expired ammunition," said Budisatrio in Jakarta, Tuesday (5/13/2025).

In addition, he said that protecting civilians in high-risk military activities is important to prevent loss of life.

According to him, socialization and restrictions on access to military activity locations must be evaluated and tightened so that human safety is not neglected.

The incident, he said, should be a reminder that discipline in implementing SOPs must be prioritized.

"The safety of all elements, both military and civilian, is the main priority in every similar activity or other military activities," he said.

For that, he also expressed his deepest condolences for the loss of life in the ammunition destruction incident. He said that his party and his faction felt sad and regretted the incident.

"Hopefully the bereaved family will be given strength and fortitude in facing this disaster," he said.
