The Indonesian U-23 national team has arrived in Paris, France's capital, on Monday (6/5/2024), gearing up for a pivotal playoff clash against Guinea in pursuit of a ticket to the 2024 Olympics.

The arrival of the Garuda squad was welcomed by Ambassador Mohamad Oemar warmly, according to antaranews.com.

Scheduled for Thursday, at Clairefontaine, the match against Guinea will adhere to FIFA guidelines and security protocols, ensuring it remains a closed-door affair.

Indonesia's participation in this playoff followed its  fourth-place finish in the 2024 AFC U-23 Championship, while Guinea secured a similar spot in the 2024 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.

Guinea's loss to Mali in the third-place playoff of the tournament sets the stage for a high-stakes encounter with Indonesia.

The victor of the Indonesia-Guinea showdown will secure a coveted spot in the Paris 2024 Olympics, joining host nation France, the United States, and New Zealand in Group A.
