Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang.  The EHang 216-s, a Chinese-made autonomous passenger drone, completed its first manned test flight with passengers onboard in Jakarta’s satellite city of Tangerang on Wednesday (25/6/2025)), folowing approval from the Ministry of Transportation.

“This approval gives us confidence from the government. We can now fly with passengers, and once commercial permits are issued, we’re ready to deliver units,” said Rudy Salim, the Executive Chairman of Prestige Aviation, the company introducing the aircraft in Indonesia, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The electric-powered drone can carry up to 220 kg for 21 minutes, reaching speeds of 130 km/h and distances up to 35 km. It uses artificial intelligence for flight control, requiring no human pilot.

Celebrity and presidential envoy Raffi Ahmad was the first passenger to test the drone. The aircraft is being positioned as a future mode of transport in Indonesia’s new capital (IKN) and as a tourism solution in major destinations.
