Indonesia's Port Visit Task Force Delivers Medical Aid to Solomon Islands

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Port Visit 2024 Task Force delivered essential medical supplies to the Solomon Islands aboard KRI dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo (WSH-991) vessel on Saturday (26/10/2024) at Honiara's dock. 

Indonesian Defense Attaché to Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands, Colonel Piter Dwi Ardianto and with Task Force Commander Colonel Arif Prasetyo, presented the supplies to Solomon's Minister of Police, National Security, and Correctional Services, Jimson Fiau Tanangada, who expressed gratitude for Indonesia’s support.

"This assistance reflects Indonesia's dedication to enhancing our friendship and cooperation. We are grateful for your support during these challenging times, " MInister Tanangada said, as reported by antaranews.com.

The visit also featured an open-ship event allowing local residents to tour KRI WSH-991, fostering cultural exchange.

The 48-day diplomatic mission, encompassing stops in Solomon Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, and Papua New Guinea, included cultural events, medical assistance, and diplomatic activities aimed at fortifying Indonesia’s ties in the South Pacific.
