Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Air Directorate of the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Water and Air Corps B strengthened aerial operational support for the Damai Cartenz task force in Central Papua through humanitarian evacuation missions.

Using a Bell 412 P-3002 helicopter, flight crews evacuated Deremina Uwamang, a victim of an armed criminal group (KKB) abduction, from Bela 1 in Alama District to Timika on 14 September 2026. The victim was transported to RS Bhayangkara Hospital in Timika for medical treatment.

On Thursday, the same flight crew executed a follow-up mission from Jila District, safely airlifting the victim's family to Timika. Captain Pilot Superintendent Asran Koto and Co-Pilot Police First Inspector Bambang S. commanded the flight operations.

Head of the Public Information Bureau of the INP Public Relations Division Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko highlighted that aerial assets remain indispensable due to Central Papua's challenging geographic terrain.

"In every mission in Papua, the police prioritize human safety alongside security operations," he said in Jakarta on Friday (18/9/2026). "Aerial support ensures state presence and rapid protection in remote, high-risk regions."
